Details and specifications are numbered on the same system. NYCSCA uses CSI MasterFormat 1995 (five digits, divisions 01-16), and a detail’s first five digits are its governing specification section, which is what the cross-links on each card follow. Only 119 of 394 sections actually have standard details drawn, so most specifications show none; that is normal, not missing data. 219 of 1,414 details have no confirmed PDF on file and link out to a search of the official NYCSCA site instead. Specifications are published as Word documents rather than PDFs, so they open in the Office viewer and carry no revision date. Eleven section numbers carry more than one document. Check the document itself before relying on it.

Room layouts are numbered on a different scheme entirely, not CSI. The first digit is the use group and the second the school level, so 1-10 is a pre-kindergarten classroom and 1-20 a high-school classroom. They are grouped by use rather than by division. 368 of 427 are CAD drawings with no PDF, so most offer a DWG download rather than a preview, and NYCSCA publishes no titles for them: the number and group are the whole identity.

When the record stops answering the question

Need help coordinating these standards with a project?

Use Process when the standard, project condition, and submission requirements do not line up cleanly, or when a detail needs project-specific interpretation.
