Applicability can turn on building facts, dates, occupancy, and exceptions that an index cannot decide. Start with the decision path, then request review if the consequence matters.
Sources and limitations
Sources: local law texts and summaries from the NYC Department of Buildings’ published local law library. Building applicability is assessed against NYC Department of City Planning (MapPLUTO, Building Footprints) and NYC Department of Buildings (Facades Compliance Filings under Local Law 11, DOB Violations, Energy and Water Data Disclosure under Local Law 84, and the Sustainability Compliance Map extract for Local Law 33 grades), with address resolution via NYC Planning Labs GeoSearch, all via NYC Open Data. Records are provided as-is and may lag official City systems. Applicability is derived by this tool from published thresholds and recorded building attributes; laws shown as “Not assessed” have not been evaluated, which is not the same as not applying. Amendment tracking is partial: the laws named on a record were established from codified amendment history notes or from a later law naming this one, and verified in August 2026, but a record with no amendment line has not been shown to be unamended, only that no amendment has been established here.
